The council sold 703 $5 state raffle tickets, reaching our goal of selling 690 tickets, or 10 tickets for each of 69 council members. We estimate we will receive $3100 back from the sale of $3500 worth of tickets, good for our charitable purposes like the food drive. Thanks to everyone for working hard to sell the tickets, and thanks especially to the generous churchgoers at St Michaels and St Pauls for being such loyal customers.

The St Michael Parish 50th anniversary picnic on July 22nd was a rousing success. 550 parishioners RSVP'd, and it appeared even more showed up. Thanks to our brothers who served pop, orange drink and water. We went through 8 cases of water in 3 hours! We also brought out former bingo caller out of retirement to call some numbers. (For recreation only).

Welcome Wagon of Canfield has once again generously supported the Holidays for the Hungry food drive we hold in conjunction with the Canfield Lions Club each Thanksgiving and Christmas. Brother G Rogus accepted a check for $300 at a brunch event in May. We thank the Welcome Wagon group once again; they raised the money during a Mystery Theatre Dinner back in March.

The 2012 Measure Up campaign fell a bit short compared to 2011, but we have a check for $282.03 for the state. 20% of that goes to the state Special Olympics program. We will be receiving a check back for 80% of the total, made out to Special Olympics Mahoning County. Brother M Saraceno's wife is on the local Special Olympics board.

We collected $115 from members during the Gimme Five collection at the beginning of the year. Those 5-dollar (and a few 10-dollar) donations add up! Our store collection at Nemenz IGA was limited to one day due to cold weather, but we collected $167,03 for that. Thanks Canfield community!

We received a plaque at the recent Diocesan Meeting for a 325% increase in fundraising for the 2011 campaign. Thanks to FS J Geiser for pushing the Gimme Five effort and to V Buente for running the store collection at Nemenz IGA. And to all who gave or collected!

The council thanks the Faith Sharing groups at St Michaels for the assistance they gave in organizing and distributing the food. We couldn't have done it without you.
